At first glance the controller certainly looks to be living up to its label. The hardware comes complete with its own software, the Virtual DJ 3 DJC, which is easy to use and offers track bpm analysis, cue point insertion, pitch blend, master tempo control and various other features that can make your set your own. It definitely makes allowances for you to put a personal touch on your DJ-ing.

In addition to the software being highly usable and effective, the Hercules E2 offers the major plus point of being compact and incredibly light so it is easy to carry around with you. Despite its size though, it is hard wearing and can withstand serious intense use. The 2 decks are also user friendly and navigation with the jog wheels is intuitive and sound. In fact, the entire system is intuitive and allows for the use of various techniques so that you can put your own stamp on each track and ultimately the set.

However, the jog wheels have come in for a little criticism because they use the same tracking that a computer mouse scroll wheel uses, which makes it incredibly difficult to control at times.
